Wednesday evening 6:30-8:30 we will be showing the movie "The Big Green" on a large screen in Shady Oak. Kids may bring blankets for the floor if you like. There will be homemade ice-cream to enjoy. We are approximately $16,000 behind in our budget offerings. There are three remaining Sundays (including today) in our fiscal year, with $32,800 needed to meet budget offering giving. Thank you for your MCC kit contributions. So far we've collected 48 health kits and 10 school kits. Bags to fill are still available in the foyer. -- Word & Deed Committee The annual Ladies Retreat sponsored by Mennonite Women of Virginia will be held Sept. 26-28 in Richmond, VA. The theme is "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus". Brochures are located on the table in the foyer. Early registration is due by Sept. 2. If interested in traveling by a bus, call Christine Hill 867-0232, or hillcmast@aol.com Don't forget to donate your spare change to the Penny Power Jug in the foyer! We will take the change to the Relief Sale where it will be counted and shared equally with Mennonite Central Committee and Virginia Mennonite Missions. We will begin a 12-week ladies Bible study on Wednesday, Sept. 3. Morning group will meet Wednesdays 9-11 a.m.; evening group will meet 6:30-8:00 p.m. The study will be Daniel by Beth Moore. Should you take PERSPECTIVES on the WORLD CHRISTIAN MOVEMENT? This may be the most comprehensive course available to give you a strategic overview of what God Himself is doing in our world, in our day.
